LEGO Friends 41027 Lemonade Stand

LEGO Friends 41027 Mia's Lemonade Stand (Toy) My four-year-old daughter has recently discovered #big kid Legos#, and although most sets are for kids older than her, she enjoys putting them together with my help. We've tackled fairly large projects (350+ pieces) and the small poly bag projects (less than 50 pieces). This was our first set in the 100-piece range, and we loved it! Not too big, not too small...it was about as much concentration as my kid could muster in one session, and took us somewhere between 15-20 minutes to put together. My daughter had done a lemonade stand last summer with a friend of hers, so she really related to this little set. The stand is hinged and can swing open 180 degrees. The scooter is also super cute. If I had any gripes, it would be that there wasn't an 8x16 base plate included so the little figurine could have something stable to stand on. However, since Lego doesn't really include base plates in comparable sets of this size, it's not something I'd fault this particular set with. You can also buy an 8x16 base plate for $2 on the Lego website.

This set was released on January 1, 2014, and appears to have sold out quickly on Amazon. I had no problems ordering multiple sets directly from Lego. With an MSRP of $9.99, also be wary of mark-ups from third-party vendors. All in all,if you're able to get your hands on a set for the intended price, it's well worth it. Fun #everyday# theme and cool scooter offers great playability for a pretty small (and, thus, affordable) Lego set.
