This console is way more beautiful out of the box. You have to see one in person to really appreciate the design. It's a mix between the matte and gloss finish, so it doesn't pick up fingerprints as badly as the glossy finish of a 3DS. So fingerprints will get picked up, but not as badly as I've experienced with my normal, glossy 3DS. As another reviewer said, "Xerneas has a nice metallic silver finish on the front and on the back you have silhouettes of the 3 starter Pokemon of gen 6 also in silver." As well as X Y there as well as in the background on the top. "The inside has the same matte black interior like the regular blue and red XL's." I prefer the blue as the X Y show up better, but Yvental looks much better on a red background.
I give it five stars for the beautiful design, and five cuz the XL is a lovely beast compared to the smaller 3DS- especially for those who like to see our handheld games on bigger screens.
Besides, it will make your Pokemon loving friends jealous when they learn you have this!
