This is a great little camcorder. It would be ideal for everyday recording, family vacations, and special occasions such as weddings or sporting events. It would also make a good starter camcorder for beginner videographers or film students.

PROS:
- Camcorder is relatively light and small; it's easy to transport and it won't take much room in terms of storage.
- Everything can be done on auto - the camera can autofocus and will adjust for whatever lighting situations you are in - this makes it very easy to use. But you can also switch many settings to manual if you want more creative freedom.
- 3-inch LCD screen is very nice, gives clear view of what the lens is seeing -- it is also a touch-screen, so you can select various options by touching the screen itself.
- Battery life has been good so far. The battery can be recharged without even taking it off the camera via the power adapter cable (included in box).
- Optical Zoom of x21; "Intelligent Zoom" up to x50 (but anything over x21 and it's digital zoom, so the further you zoom the more the video quality suffers).
- The built-in mic records clean audio (not too much background noise from wind, etc.) when compared to other camcorders I have used. Of course, if you want really high-quality sound, you'll want to invest in an external microphone.

CONS:
- I use a MacBook Pro, and the HD video software CD included was useless to me. I have heard that some people had compatibility issues with this camera and their Mac - I was able to successfully import my videos into iMovie and Final Cut Pro, but it took a bit of time and effort to figure it out. I would have hoped that manufacturers would design their cameras for maximum compatibility; it should not be a hassle to import your footage.

NOTES:
- This is the first Panasonic camcorder I have owned... all other cameras/recording devices I have owned were either Sony or Canon. I am impressed at the quality of this product, although I wouldn't say that buying Panasonic has any particular advantage over the other brands.
- The product manual is very helpful for getting to know the camera features and troubleshooting. A CD is also included with a digital version of the manual; and you can also get it online at the Panasonic website.
- I have not tried the Wi-Fi connectivity on this camera - from what I have read, it is a disaster for many and I don't even want to take a chance with it. The Wi-Fi is really unnecessary unless you are wanting to live-stream something. For most videographers and casual users, recording to a memory card and then transferring/sharing video at a later time works just fine.
