It is half the price and the same quality as what you will buy from the American Girl (AG) store. My daughter is a gymnast and wanted the new outfit that she saw in the new AG catalog but preferred this because the colors were more USA team-like and something that Gabby Douglas would wear. My daughter commented that the metal was like #real gold# and we didn't have the quality issues that I read about in other reviews. This outfit includes the grips, which is what many kid gymnasts want. The red, white, and blue of this outfit is easier to match if you're looking for a similar leotard or grip bag for your child.
