The Spiritual Journey of George Washington (Hardcover) This is an unusual book about George Washington since it concentrates on what religious influences in his daily life had an impact on his character. It includes the rules he wrote for himself, his daily prayers, how that dovetailed with his military service, and together led him to become the great leader that he was. I had never heard of the possibility of a visit by the Blessed Mary while at Valley Forge, though I had visited there many times. I am also surprised there is no mention of his Masonic associations. A visit to the George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria would be enlightening in this regard.
