WD TV Play Media Player (Electronics) I purchased 4 of these units for my new house. I have other DLNA set top boxes (Buffalo, WDTV Live), and wanted to upgrade my equipment. That was a big mistake. The WDTV Play streams Netflix flawlessly, so for that purpose it's a good value. The tablel app is acceptable for remote control. But where this device epically fails is streaming content from your pc. DLNA/UPnP is unacceptable. It can stream most types of media, but usually has to be rebooted between streams. After a video has played for a while you lose control of the stream. It continues to play and cannot be paused/stopped/etc. If you click the Home button you can get back to the menu, but to no avail. If you try to launch another video, you get the "Toilet bowl of death" spinning arrow. Rebooting the unit is the only way to recover. WD is aware of the problem, but has not produced a patch to fix it for months. My recommendation is to buy something else. Too bad, because this product had real potential.
