Robot Turtles

Robot Turtles (Toy) I bought this on kickstarter as well. The high quality pieces and art are impressive. However it is the attention to small details that really matter for the game to come together as fun and playable for a four year old.

For example, you can see on the turtle piece pictured above that there are three flowers - one yellow, one blue, one purple. At first I thought they were just to set a playful tone - again the art is fantastic. But they actually represent the motion cards - the yellow cards turn the turtle to the yellow flower. Blue moves them forward to the blue flower, and the purple card turns the turtle to the purple flower. What this means is that a four year old can play and reason through the program, even though they may not quite understand #right# and #left#. So simple, and yet its stuff like this that makes it possible for young kids to be successful with their programs and enjoy the game.

My 4 year old can't get enough, and even my two year old enjoys writing programs!

Loved it so much, I bought two more for gifts!

Also very cool that they were manufactured in America.
