Lowepro Passport Sling Camera Bag-Mica (Camera) Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program (What's this?) I was more than a little disappointed in this bag. First, the shape and internal design is adequate for carrying around a basic kit DSLR or mirrorless ICL with a couple of lenses and gear, but it isn't very innovative. It's not great for large lenses or hoods, nor is it ideal to hold a camera + lens (and certainly not with an external flash) in a ready-state between shoots. You can remove or open up the internal dividers and just lay the camera in there the way you would inside of any sack/bag/purse, but this isn't really purpose-built for that kind of use. Crucially, though, the inside has limited space, so you have to rely on the external pockets much of the time. Trouble is, the external stash pockets are not very secure and cannot be closed up (there is no zipper, flap, snap, elastic, etc.), so things easily can slip out. Medium marks on functionality.
Second, I think that many men will be concerned that its size and shape make it more purse-like than they might prefer. I got some gentle ribbing from men and women of my acquaintance. Paradoxically, the women I spoke with told me that they didn't like the idea of using it themselves, either, because of its utilitarian style and color. So low marks on style and appearance.
My normal go-to bag was and remains the Domke 701-J83 J-803 Satchel (Black), which is a smallish satchel with removeable internal dividers and external pouches for camera gear, an internal sleeve for a tablet or thin notebook PC/Mac, and a style that carries over equally well to office use (e.g., carrying files) when you remove the internal dividers.
